Classes - Jenks Planetarium

Explore the night sky with our engaging, awe-inspiring shows! The Jenks School District is excited to bring you the Jenks Planetarium! Housed on the 3rd floor in the new Dr. Kirby A. Lehman Center for the Study of Math and Science Center on the Jenks High School Campus is a 50-foot, 120-seat SciDome high definition planetarium. With it you will see the sky as you've never seen it before. See planets up close. Fly to distant stars and galaxies. Even rediscover our very own earth in ways never thought possible. From a complex black hole to the simplicity of a constellation, audiences will walk away with a new understanding of our cosmos. Shows will range from the young to the older young-at-heart. All shows last approximately 50 minutes.

Private groups are welcomed. These groups can range from scout groups, birthday parties or business seminars. Contact Dan Zielinski at dan.zielinski@jenksps.org OR 918-299-4415, ext. 3307, for information and scheduling of groups and special events. 

You may reserve an admission for a Planetarium show one of the following ways:

  • Online with a credit card.  $5 per show. See below.
  • Call our Community Education office at 918-298-0340 with a credit card. $5 per show.
  • Visit our Community Education office with a credit card, cash or check. $5 per show.
  • Pay with cash, check or credit card (Discover/Mastercard/Visa) at the door prior to show time, if seating is available.  $7 per show.
Doors to the Planetarium open approximately 30 minutes prior to listed show time. Tickets will not be issued at time of purchase. You do not need to show proof of purchase. Your name will appear on a list at the door and checked off upon entry to the show. General seating. No food or drink is allowed in the Planetarium.


Parking is available on both the East and the West sides of the building.

In honor of Flight Night Space Week, the Jenks Planetarium and Flight Night (a nonprofit which funds STEM programs and projects) will host a Community Night, free of charge, to all that pre-register online. The topic for discussion is the Future of Space Exploration, the importance of a space program, how the space program has improved our lives on earth through technological advancement and inspiring the next generation of explorers. Bryan DeBates, M.Ed. Senior Director-Education for the Space Foundation, will moderate the Discussion Panel featuring Paul Lockhart, former Astronaut and Space Shuttle Pilot, Donna Shirley, Former Manager of the Mars Exploration Program at NASA?s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Lane Matheson, former engineering contractor to NASA on the International Space Station project and current director Tulsa Engineering Academy at Memorial High School. The planetarium will also feature the show ?Passport to the Universe.? Narrator Tom Hanks will guide participants on a trip through the universe like never before. Learn our true cosmic address, discover just how small we really are and learn that we truly have come from the stars.
